Dealing with nerves

The physical and the mental tools. Nerves are normal and useful. The training is to put them to work instead of letting them lead the room.

Nerves are useful. They sharpen focus and lift performance. The training is not to eliminate them but to channel them. Physical tools: slow breath, physical warm-up, walking before the room. Mental tools: rehearse the worst question, walk through the first thirty seconds, picture the audience as friendly. Done together they convert nerves into presence.
